3 Weight Loss Tips - Healthy Celery Snacks

Celery is a fantastic vegetable providing both fiber and natural water content. Celery is about 95% water, very alkaline and can be easily eaten anywhere, anytime as a handy weight loss snack.

Being both alkaline and of high water content, celery is perfect for smokers who have decided to quit and want to make sure their blood and body chemistry stays on the alkaline side. Those people removing the habit will often release enough toxins into the blood that it starts to become acidic and celery is a great way to balance that out. If you’ve just quit, keep celery handy and snack on it often.

3 Weight Loss Tips Using Celery

Celery can be eaten combined with almost anything. Here are 3 of my personal favorite celery snacks

1. Celery Stalks and Hummus – While I’m preparing a meal, I often snack on celery and hummus. Hummus is a dip made with Chick Peas (Garbonzo beans, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil and often cayenne pepper. Darlene will be posting a Hummus recipe soon. Taken with you to work, Hummus can be eaten with celery, carrots, sliced peppers or any other raw vegetable or whole grain crisp bread crackers like Ryvita crackers (www.ryvita.com). Opt out of the wheat crackers and choose whole grain rye instead. High in fiber, low in calories and great with Hummus. I like the sesame rye crackers which contain only whole grain rye, sesame seeds, salt and that’s it.

2. Celery Stalks and Almond Butter – I often have this before bed as I simply love almond butter. Almond butter is a staple in our home and has been for years. The value of raw almonds is undeniable and is a staple of vegetarians and vegans alike. Lots of protein, vitamins and minerals, the almond is one nut that can be turned into a scrumptious butter. Simply spread some Almond butter onto a few pieces of raw celery and eat. This is another great snack that can be taken to work, in the car while traveling or eaten before bed like I do. For many, the good fats in the almond butter help a person sleep.

3. Celery Stalks and Hard Boiled Eggs – The egg is my own personal daily staple for protein. I choose local farm raised eggs from chickens allowed to eat grass and bugs like they were meant to. Egg’s supply a large amount of complete, high-quality protein, and provide significant amounts of several vitamins and minerals, including vitamin A, riboflavin, folic acid, vitamin B6, vitamin B12, choline, iron, calcium, phosphorus and potassium. They are also one of the least expensive single-food sources of complete protein. One large chicken egg contains approximately 7 grams of protein. Boil a dozen eggs and then take 3 with you to work to eat during a break with a little sea salt and black pepper. Add in a few celery stalks and you’ve got a nutritious snack, low in calories and fat, and which provides a 21 grams of protein.

You’ve heard that celery is a negative calorie food I’m sure. This means that it takes more energy to digest celery than celery provides. Celery is 95% water and is made up of cellulose. Cellulose can’t be broken down, resulting in the reverse energy load (my term, I just made that up). Thought to be a myth by many looking for an easy weight loss snack, Snopes was brought into it ….

The calories in food are a measure of energy content. For something we eat to be a source of “negative calories,” it must provide fewer of these units of energy than we expend in consuming it. Yet everything contains calories, so at first this concept appears impossible. Therefore, the hunt is on for ingestibles whose energy content is not released into our bodies because we humans lack the ability to break them down - it doesn’t matter how many calories these goodies have, provided we can’t extract them. Cellulose in plants is one such substance: although it contains a goodly amount of carbohydrates, they are packaged in a form we cannot digest, so we fail to absorb their calories. (source)

Celery was also strongly endorsed in the Cayce readings (Edgar Cayce) for its nutritional value and specific use as a nerve building food or medicine. Celery is rich in phosphorus, silicon, iron, and calcium. As part of a balanced diet, celery can help improve alkalinity which helps ward off infectious tendencies.

Because celery is of high water content, it’s great for before, during or after a meal when you want some water but don’t want to dilute your digestive juices.

Celery is a great all around snack for dieters or anyone simply wanting to increase their natural water intake or lower their alkalinity such as new non smokers or anyone with acidocis. These 3 weight loss tips are provided to give you some good food choices and healthy snack ideas for eating on the go at work or traveling.

Website Promotion

Website promotion is an integral part of running a successful online business. Promoting your site on the internet follows the similar principle to promoting any business, listing you business in business directories, making sure people know about your business, news letter drops etc. There is one main benefit of Internet promotion and promoting your business on the internet, it can and will happen much quicker than offline!

So, where to start?Once your site is complete (and I mean 100% complete) you need to begin your internet promotion campaign.

Search Engine Submission:

Submitting your website to search engines is an effective way of driving qualified traffic to your website. What better way than attract a proactive audience, people are actively searching for your products. Addme provide a variety of search engine submission services, all available from the submission section of the site.

Directory Submissions:

Though not as effective, internet directories are also a good source of traffic and backward links (Backward links are beneficial for your search engine rankings). When compiling your list of directories make sure you have www.dmoz.com and Yahoo!.com at the top of your list!

Search Engine Optimization:

During completion of the above to practices we strongly recommend that you also start optimizing your website for search engines. Search engine optimization is an integral part of internet website promotion. Unfortunately simply submitting your website to a search engine will not get you top position – you will be required to make sure that the copy on the WebPages is unique. The copy should also included popular search terms that people will use to search for your products and service. To find out what people are searching we recommend using Keyworddiscovery. Finally, you will need to make sure that your site can be accessed by a search engine. Check out SEO Toolkit for all the required tools to complete your website optimization.

Paid Search:

Paid search marketing (aka CPC) is a very effect way to drive targeted traffic to your website. Many search engines offer a paid search program, the biggest ones being Google, Yahoo! And more recently MSN. Paid search listings generally receive 30% of the search traffic from a search results page. Paid search programs allow you to nominate what search terms you want your site to show up for. Other main benefits of paid search campaigns are:

* Day Parting; Nominate the time of day when your ad/listing is shown
* Geo - targeting: Target your paid search ad’s to certain geographical location (‘s)
* Target Pages: Drive traffic to specific pages on your site, this is done during the ad group set-up. You can even drive traffic to specific pages depending on the search term.
* Positioning: To limit your search spend and manage the flow of traffic you can specifically position your paid search add.

Trusted Feed:

The final search product available to increase your presence in the search engine results is trusted feed. Trusted feed is a hybrid search product combining natural listings within the Yahoo! Search results with a flat bid structure depending on your category. This form of search marketing works very well for sites with a large volume of pages i.e. shopping websites.

Email Marketing:

Another effective form of website promotion would be email marketing. Known as a more aggressive form of marketing, email marketing involves building or acquiring an opt in mailing list. This mailing list must suit your audience and MUST be opt in. if you purchase a mailing list that is not opt in you will do more harm than good, you will be send emails to people that did not request these , thus risking your site being black listed for spam. Another very important point to consider when purchasing a mailing list is the audience; make sure you’re not wasting your message on people that are not interested in what you have to say.

Combining the popular methods of website promotion, search engine submissions, directory submissions and email marketing is a step in the right direction to promoting your website, building brand and driving traffic to the site via search engines.Finaly, website promotion is an ongoing project. Like any other form of promotion - you need to keep at it for it to work.

5 Steps to Search Engine Success

1. Title Tags

The single most important “on page?factor affecting search engine rankings is the title tag. This is a snippet of code in the header section of a web document. The title of a web page is given great weight by the search engines, and for lesser competitive keyphrases a good title tag alone may be enough to catapult a page to the top of the engines.

One common mistake made is that a website is created from a template in which all of the title tag information is the same from page to page. This can not only get your pages thrown into the supplemental results, it is an example of extremely poor individual page optimization.

Individual page optimization basically means that each page of your site should be individually optimized for the contents and target keyphrase of that page. Chances are that you desire to attract visitors using a variety of keyphrases. If you use the same title tag throughout your site, you are missing out on a wonderful opportunity to do this.

The title tag of each page should be individually optimized for the keyphrases that you are targeting for that page. Repetition should be avoided. For ecommerce websites, each product page should contain a unique title tag reflecting the specific product featured on that page.

For example, let’s say you sell a large inventory of widgets of various types and sizes. The title tag of your home page should probably contain the word “widgets? Then, each individual product page should contain more information in the title tag pertaining to the specific product, such as “Large Red Widget ?Model ABC123? or something similar. This allows users searching for specific model numbers, or manufacturer names, or even more general terms like “large red widget?to land on a page specifically relevant to their search engine query.

2. Rich Content

If you are not including keyphrase rich content on each page of your website, you again face a risk of having your pages thrown into the supplementals, or having your pages outright rank poorly for your target keyphrases. Be sure to include at least one instance of the keyphrase you are targeting for that page in the body text of the page.

A rule of thumb I use is to first go through and select the keyphrases you are targeting for each page. Then, optimize the title tags accordingly to reflect this. After that, write rich, unique content for each page, and be sure to include at least one instance of the title tag content in the body text.

A common mistake in this area is to write generic page content, and simply replace the target keyphrase on each page. This type of methodology adds no real value to individual pages of your site and is almost certainly going to result in your pages get thrown into the supplementals on grounds of duplicative content. It is not enough, therefore, to have generic content which is the same on each page, with a mere substitution of the target keyphrase.

For example, a real estate agency wants to be at the top of the engines for searches in all 50 states. They create generic content such as:

“We are your [state name] real estate experts. Browse our [state name] real estate listings to find your perfect [state name] home…”

The firm then creates 50 individual state pages, with the exact same content and only the state name changed. This will not work. Each page needs to have unique, rich content, and so in the example above, we would need to create 50 original pages of content rather than using a simple “find and replace?methodology.

An ecommerce site should write rich descriptions for each of their products. A common mistake I see in such sites is that individual product pages contain little or no written content aside from the product name and a picture. Be sure to write at least a paragraph on the features and benefits of each product in the product description field.

3. Blog

Your competition is blogging, so it’s time you jump on the bandwagon. There are a number of reasons to blog that directly relate to search engine considerations. Google and other engines generally prefer sites with fresh content over stale sites. This means that ranking well involves the regular creation of rich content, and typically this is done via a company weblog.

Blog articles should be useful and informative and should not be considered necessarily self promotional. Using the real estate example above, the agency should write general interest articles on buying and selling homes, how to select a realtor, and the like. It should avoid writing articles touting the benefits of the firm itself ?blog articles should not be press releases (although it is okay to repost the occasional press release in the company blog). The reason for this is that general interest articles (such as the one you are reading right now) are much more attractive link bait (see next section) than are articles on how wonderful your company is.

Additionally, once you have started blogging, you are opening yourself up to link bait and social media opportunities as described below.

4. Link Bait

Generally speaking, the more links you have to rich content on your site, the better off you are going to be in the engines. The creation of a blog is a wonderful way to attract links. Other ideas for link bait include video, images, sound clips, press releases and the like. Contests, quizzes, product reviews, top 10 lists (or in the case of this article, a top 5 list), and how to articles fare very well. Also, the provision of useful tools can be a great way to attract links.

In the example of the real estate agency, a tool likely to attract links would be a free mortgage calculator. Offering such a tool on your website can attract the attention of other sites in the form of links, increasing your reputation and pagerank, which has a direct impact on higher search engine rankings.

Be sure to create link bait on a regular basis through the regular creation of content, of whatever form you choose.

5. Social Media

Now that you have created all this wonderful link bait in the form of blogs, videos, tools, and the like, you need to make sure to get the word out about it so that people know it is there. Social media has already become one of the most powerful ways to spread the word. Social media is loosely defined as any sort of user driven content. Famous examples include MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, Yahoo Answers, Wikipedia, and the like.

Social bookmarking sites such as Digg and StumbleUpon are wonderful ways to get the word out about your content. If you have a number of images (such as product images in an ecommerce site), image sharing sites such as Flickr are useful. Contests and quizzes are great fodder for social networking sites such as MySpace, Facebook, and Yahoo360. Video content can be promoted through YouTube, MetaCafe, AOLVideo, and similar sites.

The point is, the more you promote your wonderful link bait, the more people will find out about it and link to it. Put your content to work for you!

Zepto Notus A12

The Zepto Notus A12 is an innovative notebook which combines a very usable WXGA display with a low power CPU to give adequate performance with all-day battery operation and a cost lower than other notebooks with similar characteristics.

Readers of my reviews may recall that I was enthusiastic about the Sony G11 which had a 12.1" display, 1.13kg (2.49lb) weight and offered 9 hour battery life in return for accepting compromises on performance (link to that review). I can't be the only person who wants a lightweight portable notebook with very good battery life for basic tasks while on the move but doesn't want a very small display.

The Notus (right) outside next to the Sony G11 (left). The glossy screen can be used as a mirror! (and I could get a wireless connection to the router inside the house)

Reasons for Buying

I haven't bought the Notus. I just borrowed it so that I could share my findings. However, if I hadn't bought that Sony G11 last year then I would be very tempted to buy the Notus for the same reasons as I bought the G11.

The 12.1" Zepto Notus between the 14.1" Zepto 6024W and the 12.1" Sony G11 (all displays at maximum brightness)

The Notus's display next to the 10" display of the Fujitsu P2020

What's in the Box?

The Notus came in a small box containing:

  • A sheet of paper with getting started instructions
  • A driver CD (including the 145 page manual as a PDF file)
  • Operating system DVD (if Notus ordered with optional operating system)
  • A small microfibre cleaning cloth

The review machine was supplied with Vista Business and the optional Samsung SE-T08L slot-loading external optical drive. Purchasers may select one of the various versions of Vista or no operating system at all. Windows XP is not offered since the display size of the Notus makes it ineligible for Microsoft's continuation of XP for the small, low-powered notebooks.

All you need to know about diabetes

All you need to know about diabetes

People with Type 1 diabetes have too much glucose because their immune system has wiped out the special cells in the pancreas (called beta cells) that make insulin- a hormone that helps the cells use glucose for growth and healing. For this reason, Type 1 is often referred to as insulin-dependent diabetes, because people who have it need to take insulin to make their blood glucose levels normal.

Effects

In the short term, excess glucose in the body can cause rapid weight loss, frequent urination, extreme thirst and hunger, fatigue, fainting and even coma. In the long term, untreated diabetes can result in eye, nerve, kidney and heart damage.

Type 1 diabetes can occur at any time between infancy and the late 30s (and, rarely, up to age 75), but it most often appears between the ages of nine and 11. Researchers don't know why it happens in some children and not others, but they do believe it is, at least partially, genetic. Half of the people diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes are under age 20.

Risk factors for Type 1 Diabetes

1. Genetics. Either the parents or grandparents suffer from it.
2. Caucasian. Type 1 diabetes strikes people of every race, but it is most common among white people.

Type 2 diabetes is also called adult-onset diabetes because it primarily affects adults of middle age and older people. In Type 2 diabetes, the pancreas still create some insulin.

Risk factors for Type 2 Diabetes

  • Genetics : Like Type 1 diabetes, Type 2 disease also runs in families.
  • Age : Most people diagnosed with Type 2 are over age 40. Half of all new cases are people age 55 and older.
  • Being overweight or obese: Insulin resistance increases with weight.
  • Sedentary lifestyle : Insulin resistance increases with lack of exercise.
  • Stress : Many patients report that the diagnosis of diabetes was made following a stressful event such an accident or bereavement.
  • Women who have had gestational diabetes.
  • The use of certain drugs : Thiazide diuretics (used to manage high blood pressure) and steroids (used to help with inflammatory conditions) may contribute to Type 2 diabetes.

Gestational Diabetes

Gestational diabetes develops in pregnant women with no previous history of diabetes, and in most cases - but not all - clear up after the mother has delivered her baby. The mother's glucose rises due to hormones secreted during pregnancy and she cannot produce enough insulin to handle the higher blood glucose levels. Although gestational diabetes usually vanishes after pregnancy, about 60 per cent women who have had gestational diabetes eventually end up developing Type 2 diabetes.

10 Essential Health Tips

(The Basics to Practice Every Day)

"He who has health has hope, and he who has hope has everything." -Arabian Proverb

1. Move More
Make it a daily challenge to find ways to move your body. Climb stairs if given a choice between that and escalators or elevators. Walk your dog; chase your kids; toss balls with friends, mow the lawn. Anything that moves your limbs is not only a fitness tool, it's a stress buster. Think 'move' in small increments of time. It doesn't have to be an hour in the gym or a 45-minute aerobic dance class or tai chi or kickboxing. But that's great when you're up to it. Meanwhile, move more. Thought for the day: Cha, Cha, Cha…. Then do it!

2. Cut Fat
Avoid the obvious such as fried foods, burgers and other fatty meats (i.e. pork, bacon, ham, salami, ribs and sausage). Dairy products such as cheese, cottage cheese, milk and cream should be eaten in low fat versions. Nuts and sandwich meats, mayonnaise, margarine, butter and sauces should be eaten in limited amounts. Most are available in lower fat versions such as substitute butter, fat free cheeses and mayonnaise. Thought for the day: Lean, mean, fat-burning machine…. Then be one!

3. Quit Smoking
The jury is definitely in on this verdict. Ever since 1960 when the Surgeon General announced that smoking was harmful to your health, Americans have been reducing their use of tobacco products that kill. Just recently, we've seen a surge in smoking in adolescents and teens. Could it be the Hollywood influence? It seems the stars in every movie of late smoke cigarettes. Beware. Warn your children of the false romance or 'tough guy' stance of Hollywood smokers. Thought for the day: Give up just one cigarette…. the next one.

4. Reduce Stress
Easier said than done, stress busters come in many forms. Some techniques recommended by experts are to think positive thoughts. Spend 30 minutes a day doing something you like. (i.e.,Soak in a hot tub; walk on the beach or in a park; read a good book; visit a friend; play with your dog; listen to soothing music; watch a funny movie. Get a massage, a facial or a haircut. Meditate. Count to ten before losing your temper or getting aggravated. Avoid difficult people when possible. Thought for the day: When seeing red, think pink clouds….then float on them.

5. Protect Yourself from Pollution
If you can't live in a smog-free environment, at least avoid smoke-filled rooms, high traffic areas, breathing in highway fumes and exercising near busy thoroughfares. Exercise outside when the smog rating is low. Exercise indoors in air conditioning when air quality is good. Plant lots of shrubbery in your yard. It's a good pollution and dirt from the street deterrent. Thought for the day: 'Smoke gets in your eyes'…and your mouth, and your nose and your lungs as do pollutants….hum the tune daily.

6. Wear Your Seat Belt
Statistics show that seat belts add to longevity and help alleviate potential injuries in car crashes. Thought for the day: Buckle down and buckle up.

7. Floss Your Teeth
Recent studies make a direct connection between longevity and teeth flossing. Nobody knows exactly why. Perhaps it's because people who floss tend to be more health conscious than people who don't? Thought for the day: Floss and be your body's boss.

8. Avoid Excessive Drinking
While recent studies show a glass of wine or one drink a day (two for men) can help protect against heart disease, more than that can cause other health problems such as liver and kidney disease and cancer. Thought for the day: A jug of wine should last a long time.

9. Keep a Positive Mental Outlook
There's a definitive connection between living well and healthfully and having a cheerful outlook on life. Thought for the day: You can't be unhappy when you're smiling or singing.

10. Choose Your Parents Well
The link between genetics and health is a powerful one. But just because one or both of your parents died young in ill health doesn't mean you cannot counteract the genetic pool handed you. Thought for the day: Follow these basic tips for healthy living and you can better control your own destiny.

Sony Ericsson say that the W595 will be available during Q4 2008 in Active Blue, Cosmopolitan White, Jungle Grey, Ruby Black and Lava Black colour combinations, depending on region.

Warning: The App Store Is Dangerous

By Chris Maxcer
MacNewsWorld
Part of the ECT News Network
08/06/08 4:00 AM PT

The App Store for the iPhone and iPod touch is a dangerous place, writes reviewer Chris Maxcer. The layout is as familiar and intuitive as any other wing of the iTunes store, and downloading apps by the handful -- useful ones, fun ones and dumb ones alike -- is devilishly easy. Luckily, some of them are free. Still, keep an eye on your wallet.

Recently, Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) Latest News about Apple App Store -- the iTunes area designed to showcase and sell independent, third-party programs for the iPhone and the iPod touch -- hit an inventory of 1,001 applications. The store launched with a little more than half that number, and in the first weekend it served up 10 million downloads.

Some reporters have likened the App Store to a candy shop, but I think it's more addictive than that. Every time I swing through to check it out, either via iTunes on my Mac or directly from my iPhone, I find myself struggling to exercise self-restraint, lest I burn through a hundred bucks without even thinking about it.

True, most applications are $9.99 or less, and more than 300 of them are free, but it's the purchase method that's troublesome: It's so easy to use, you're hardly aware that you're spending real money at all.

How It Works

The App Store is a lot like iTunes' music and movie stores, and it's set up in a similar way to showcase what's available. You can sort by all iPhone applications, all iPod touch apps, or all free applications, in addition to choosing handy categories such as books, business, entertainment, games, navigation, sports, utilities and more. Apple also showcases what's new, what's hot, and the top paid and top free apps -- almost exactly the same way it promotes music.

Buying from iTunes is a matter of clicking the Buy App or Get App (free) buttons, which will either start the download process immediately or send the app to your shopping cart in iTunes, depending on your personal iTunes settings. Apps that are downloaded via iTunes can be synced to the iPhone or iPod touch whenever you next connect to your computer.

For those who prefer to shop from the iPhone's home page, the App Store icon launches you into the App Store, which lets you sort by item, category, top 25, or your own search term. Once you find the app you want, you can download and install it immediately without connecting to your computer. It's super easy and surprisingly fast, since most games are very small in file size. Some graphic-intensive apps like the game "Super Monkey Ball," for example, ramp up a bit -- Super Monkey Ball is 32.2 MB, and Netter's Neuroscience Flash Cards comes in at 49.7 MB. For some of the store's larger applications, the user must connect to the Internet via the phone's WiFi antenna rather than through AT&T's (NYSE: T) Latest News about AT&T wireless network New HP LaserJet P4014n Printer Starting at $699 after $100 instant savings. (or just hook up to your computer).

What's Available

As of the time of this writing, Units Converter 1.1., a simple $.99 app that does what it implies -- converts values like pounds to kilograms or feet to meters -- held the No. 1 spot for paid apps. A poker game, "Texas Hold'em," has shown real staying power since the launch of the store, and is currently at No. 2. Other games like "Super Monkey Ball" and "Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart" are selling well, and these graphic-rich games use the accelerometer in the iPhone as the directional control.

Games based on the accelerometer seem at once difficult to control and yet effective all the same -- it just takes time and practice -- so an adult might need a half hour of practice to master a monkey in a ball ... but a child could figure it out in 30 seconds.

For business users, Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL) Latest News about Oracle is offering a free app that provides iPhone access to Oracle's enterprise Rackspace now offers green hosting solutions at the same cost without sacrificing performance. Make the eco-friendly choice. reporting applications, and Salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM) Latest News about Salesforce.com has its own free mobile app. Of course, both free business apps require paid services to access; but the point is, the realm of business apps will likely grow, too.

Social networkers have nearly three dozen apps to choose from, including interfaces for Facebook Latest News about Facebook and MySpace Latest News about MySpace. There are also interesting apps such as Loopt, which turns your iPhone into a social compass that can show your friends your location and help you find out where they are and what they're doing.

There are also apps for grocery lists, task management, secure password storage, scientific calculators, tracking sports scores and more. For adventurers, RiverGuide for Kayakers tracks real-time streamflow information in cubic feet per second throughout the United States.

Danger Lurks

There are so many interesting, useful and funny applications already available that it's just astounding. Clearly, this is just the beginning. Take the flash card application I mentioned above, for example -- with tools like that for the iPhone, anyone might be able to become a doctor. That's a bit facetious, of course, but as study aids and reference tools, the iPhone and iPod touch are blowing everything else out of the water. This is educated speculation -- just wait until Apple releases a tablet touch screen device, which would likely work with App Store applications. Let me say it again: The App Store and iPhone are just the beginning for Apple.

Still, despite all the promise of business applications, educational tools and ground-breaking utilities, the App Store is also dangerous. The dark sides are numerous and the pitfalls many -- though none have to do with Apple's delivery of the store.

I've got PhoneSaber, which turns my iPhone into a virtual light saber that uses the accelerometer to hum and buzz. Imagine how dorky Star Wars-loving iPhone owners are going to look waiting in line to see the upcoming "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" movie, which will open this month.

And then there are the productivity HP LaserJet M3035 MFP series - Starting at $1,599. Save up to $500. Click Here. killers. It's one thing to play a few hands of "Texas Hold'em" poker while waiting in line at the bank; it's another thing entirely to ignore friends and family for hours while trying to win in at a virtual Vegas table. One reviewer on the iTunes store, in a review of a "South Park Imaginationland" game, noted, "I got totally focused on trying to finish the game that I caught myself playing the game for hours ... at work."

But wait, there's more: In a fit of glee, I just downloaded More Cowbell, which is a virtual cowbell that lets you tap cowbell audio in time with any song playing on your iPhone or iPod touch. It's free, luckily, and any fan of the Saturday Night Live "More Cowbell" skit with Will Ferrell and Christopher Walken will download it instantly.

What's really surprising, it turns out, is how more cowbell can really enhance most any song you've got. Try it. I had no idea.

Protect your baby from IPD

There are so many strains of bacteria in this world, some are good but some are hazardous to human, especially to those little children, which may have capacity to kill little child within 24-48 hours after infection. One of them is “hazardous strain of Streptococcus pneumoniae” that usually causes Otitis, Pneumonia and Sinusitis. More than that, it is an important cause of Meningitis in children and immune deficiency elders.

This bacteria transmissions through respiratory system and destroy epithelium tissue within respiratory tract. Then it goes into blood circulation brought to Sepsis, Meningitis, Pneumonia, Middle ear inflammation and Sinusitis. These make this strain of bacteria be the first cause of mortality in children due to Meningitis because of its drug resistant property.

As the time goes by, this strain has developed until being much more resistant results more died children from Meningitis, although the children receives medication at early stage of disease. So, it’s important to produce vaccine protecting children aged less than 2 years from this strain of bacteria called “Pneumoccccal Conjugated Vaccine (PCV)”.

This vaccine has capacity to inhibit all of 7 hazardous strains from total 90 strains, both hazardous and non-hazardous, of S. pneumoniae as high as 70-90%.

And who will be qualified to get this vaccine? Well, to answer this question depends on economic status of each country because this vaccine is quite expensive consequences some underdeveloped and developing countries couldn’t effort that much expense. While developed country like United States of America and Japan have capacity to give this vaccine to every babies aged more than 2 months.

With these data, the conclusion answering this question is… the most qualified population is every children aged lower than 5 years, usually have respiration tract infection, live in the orphanage including immune deficiency children. These children are in the high risk group population which could be infected by these bacteria easily. Due to high cost of this vaccine, the side effects after injection is in the lower level of severity like redness and swelling around injection area, fever and bored with food.

In United States of America, they started giving PCV to children aged lower than 5 years since year 2000. And they found out that death rate from IPD was decreased up to 50% after given vaccine for 1 year. Furthermore, rate of severely diseases; for example meningitis, pneumonia and acute respiratory tract infectious disease caused by these bacteria including other strains involved: occurred have decreased also.

You earn money from the advertisements on a cost-per-click basis. The amount that you earn per click varies dependant on the keyword and the number of advertisers bidding for that keyword.

The Advertisements

The adverts displayed by Google come from the Google Adwords service:

Bring targeted traffic to your site with Google AdWords This is where advertisers can bid to display their advert whenever a user searches on Google for a certain keyword. Adsense Tips

If you view the resources at the end of this article there are several links to articles already created that outline tips for increasing Adsense revenue. Here I will outline the main tips:

Ad Placement

The position of the Adsense advertisements is very important for increasing click through rates. Google have created a heatmap to help you decide the best placement for your ads.

Number of Ads

You are allowed to display up to 3 ad units on a page and a single link unit. If you can, make the most of this and display all of these ads using different combinations of banner sizes and locations across your page.

Colour of Ads and Blending

Research has found that the best CTRs are achieved by blending the advertisements to match the style of your website design. For instance, remove all of the borders from the ads and change the colour of the text links to match the colour of the links within your own website. This helps to create the perception that the links are part of the page and not advertisements.

Other techniques are to place images alongside the advertisements in order to grab the attention of the visitors’ eye. Be careful with these techniques though as Google is known for banning publishers who try to trick visitors to click on the adverts.
